Sit-down with Adrian

Talking points, agenda, the numbers to have ready, his likely questions, and the ask. Keep this open during the conversation.

Goal  →

Get Adrian excited and committed in principle to being the Qualifying Party + Field Lead for Verified Electric — and agree to map his QP/licensing timeline so we can launch.

Agenda · ~45–60 min

How to run the conversation

  1. ~5 minReconnect & the vision

What we're building: Verified Electric now, then a family of trades — "the Verified brands." A real company, built with people you trust.

  2. ~5 minWhy now

Skilled electricians are retiring faster than they're replaced; big buyers are paying up to consolidate trades. Timing is on our side.

  3. ~10 minYour role — QP + Field Lead

You anchor the license and lead the field: standards, quality, crews. As it grows you're building and leading a team, not doing every job yourself.

  4. ~10 minWhat's in it for you

A wage for your field work + a QP stipend for holding the license + retention equity so you share the upside you help build.

  5. ~5 minConstruction leadership — possibly Roberto

The platform needs a Director of Construction to run the GC arm. Roberto could be a candidate — feel out Adrian's read on whether his dad would want that kind of role, but keep it exploratory, not a promise. Whoever fills it anchors quality and the training system.

  6. ~5 minThe training system

We pair veterans with apprentices to build the next generation — you'd shape how the trade is taught here. Legacy, not just labor.

  7. ~5 minWhy it's low-risk for you

Bonded, insured, done to code; we develop a second qualifier early so it never rests on you alone. Real capital behind it (David).

  8. ~5 minThe launch plan

Panel upgrades for 1970s Scottsdale homes → first crew → cross-sell → acquire & grow. Warm work from McCully to start.

  9. ~5 minThe ask & next steps

Are you in? If yes, map your QP exam/experience/bonding timeline and get the entity licensed.

~$6k → ~$3k
Avg panel-upgrade ticket → gross profit per job (~50%)
3× → 8×
Buy small shops at ~3× earnings, exit the platform at ~8×+
$10M+
Target platform value at exit (2–4 yr build)

// Illustrative planning figures — say so if pressed.

His likely questions

Be ready for these

What exactly is my role and time commitment?
You hold the ROC license as Qualifying Party and lead field quality/standards and crews. Early on it's hands-on; as we grow you're building and running a team, not on every job. We'll scope it honestly together.
What's the risk to my license as the QP?
We protect it: fully bonded and insured, everything to code, and we develop a second qualifier early so the platform never rests on you alone (with a 60-day replacement window as backstop). You're the anchor, not the liability.
What do I actually get paid and own?
A market wage for your field work, a QP stipend for holding the license, and retention equity / bonus so you share the upside you help create. Exact numbers we'll set together in the operating agreement.
Is this real — who's funding it?
David is a committed capital partner (funds it, stays passive on operations). I run it. We start with warm work from McCully as a subcontractor, so there's revenue from day one.
Do I have to give up my own GC work?
Let's talk about how it fits — the intent is this becomes your main focus as it grows, but we'll figure out the transition that works for you.
What's the first thing you need from me?
Your yes in principle — then we map your QP exam/experience/bonding path and get the entity licensed so we can launch the panel-upgrade pilot.

// The ask — say it plainly

"Adrian, I want you to be our Qualifying Party and field lead for Verified Electric. Are you in — and can we map your licensing timeline so we can get going?"

Then agree the immediate next step: confirm his QP exam/experience/bonding requirements and timeline.
